The Aranmula, a small town in the Indian state of Kerala, is where the metal-alloy mirror known as Aranmula Kannadi (Malayalam) or the Aranmula mirror is created. It is a metal-alloy mirror, or front surface reflection mirror, as opposed to the traditional "silvered" glass mirrors, which removes secondary reflections and aberrations common with rear surface mirrors.

 Aranmula Kannadi, a traditional handmade mirror from Aranmula, India, takes around 30 to 45 days to create. Skilled artisans meticulously craft it using a unique alloy of metals, primarily copper and tin. The process involves casting, polishing, and decorating the mirror frame, which is never silvered like conventional mirrors. Instead, it reflects light through a combination of metals, resulting in a distortion-free image. This cultural art form has been passed down through generations and is highly prized for its craftsmanship, beauty, and cultural significance.
