OUR STORY
GiHeritage (India’s first online marketplace for exclusively indigenous and certified GI tagged products) was conjured to play the key role of storytelling and thereby bringing social and commercial benefits to the artisan settlements. We desire to become the medium through which the artisans can directly connect with the global audience, to be the resource that helps craft sell not as objects but stories and ideologies.
GiHeritage is an idea, a seedling that turned into a vision of enabling India to spread its branches all across the globe. It is a promise to deliver authentic traditional products, handmade with pure love and goodwill, keeping the rich legacy alive across generations.
GiHeritage is committed to keeping all the good practices intact and all processes humane and opens the door to a sustainable tomorrow.
We want to identify and recognize the faceless artisans and bridge the gap between the artisan community and ardent lovers of the art.
WHAT ARE GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATORS?
Geographical Indication (GI) tagged products are exquisitely certified products that are produced only in a specific region or are known by the region they’re produced in. The process of production for each GI certified product is traditional, despite industrialisation. It is an initiative to keep our art and legacy alive. There are 417 registered GI certified products and GiHeritage has 14000 approx. products listed on the website.
WHY US?
Geographic Indications (GI) legislation provides gi information regarding the product's origin and has also gained a great deal of attention in the country’s economic literature. With GI products as a major focus, we provide a clear channel to our artisan community to onboard our platform and help us serve the people with gi products and keep our heritage alive.
Our USP lies in delivering satisfaction to our customers all across the globe, through our authentic certified, handmade, superior quality products, which in turn, helps our vendors with their social and economical upliftment. We also assist our artisans and vendors to file for their GI licenses. All the products listed on GI Heritage are produced following traditional processes and the raw materials occur naturally, making everything eco-friendly and sustainable. We are not only making our todays better but systematically beautifying our tomorrows by helping the world population attain sustainable living.
