Bengal Dokra Brass Bust on Wooden Pedestal, Design 1

Adivasi Mukh I is a small brass head of a tribal woman, lost-wax cast by Dokra metalsmiths in West Bengal and mounted on a turned wooden base.
A plaque can be fixed to the pedestal, so it works as a service award or a first-anniversary gift that stays on the desk.
A face that remembers every milestone.

Technique: Lost-wax brass casting on a wooden pedestal

About the craft

Dokra casters in Bankura and Bardhaman build each figure in clay, wrap it in wax threads, then encase it again in clay before pouring molten brass. The mould is broken to release the piece, so no two are identical.
