Jaali Glow | Moradabad Metal Candle Diffuser

Jaali Glow is a slim metal cylinder with a patterned surface, made by artisans in Moradabad to sit over a tealight. When the candle burns, the pattern spills across tabletops and nearby walls.

Use a few down the centre of a long dinner table, or one on a bedside shelf for a softer evening light than any bulb.

Lace made of light.

Technique: Patterned cylinder, hand-finished
Care: Lift off and wipe clean once the candle has cooled

About the craft

Moradabad, known as Peetal Nagri or the "Brass City," has practised metalworking for generations, with techniques passed down through artisan families. Over time its artisans have carried that skill from brass into iron, steel and silver-finish pieces.
