These beautiful handloom sarees come from the Nawada district of Bihar, in which sustainable silk and cotton threads are used to make these pieces exclusive.These are madeon the traditional handloom in which shuttles are used.Therefore, it takes 4-5 days to finish one saree or a piece of cloths. More often than not borders or Pallus (end piece of the Saree) is woven separately and attached to the main fabric using some precise techniques. Many a times, the entirefamily members are involved in the completeprocess of making the saree, i.e. from yarn to the finished products. Thus, the process of handloom saree making is not only intricate but also a labour -intensive onewherein the skilled artisans who have mastered the craft over generations are involved.
