It is characterized by bright colours, which are sourced from natural materials such as indigo, seashells, taramind seeds, and coloured stones. It is used for decoration purposes as well as gifting purposes. India’s wide and rich heritage has been fascinating the people all around the globe for ages. Beautiful painting styles are celebrated and Cheriyal painting is one of them. It has been brought by Mughal in the 16th century. Its making procedure was all organic since ancient times. That is the reason why it has been granted a Geographical Indication certificate by the Government of India.
